TEDx Sydney on YouTube

Monday, June 7, 2010
The famous TED (technology, entertainment, design) conference in California is an annual celebration of ‘ideas worth spreading’. On Saturday May 22, TEDx, a local version of the Californian conference, was held in Sydney, and now the inspiring and exciting ideas shared on that day will spread even further, thanks to the TEDx Sydney YouTube channel.

You can check it out here – there are 20 videos on topics ranging from indigenous Australian wisdom to the new ‘diamond age’. Share these videos with your friends via the easy methods on YouTube – Twitter, Facebook, Buzz ….and help these wonderful ideas spread even further.

A couple of my favourites? Jon Jureidini talking about the fallacy of compromise and Rachel Botsman talking about collaborative consumption. And of course, our very own Lars Rasmussen, talking about the genesis of the Map Maker project for Google Maps, which put power in the hands of people all around the world, including developing countries, to create their own digital maps of their towns and cities – driving economic growth and making relief efforts easier in times of disaster.
